Mumbai Indians have always been regarded as one of the most astute franchises when it comes to their judgment of signing players in franchise cricket and now that they have bought the Cape Town franchise in the new CSA T20 league, there will be a lot of eyeballs on their signings again.
England is one of the best white ball teams in the world at the moment and with a fair few England players signing up for the CSA league, they will be the center of attraction for all the franchises including the Mumbai Indians.
Here are the 3 players who might play for the Mumbai Indians-owned franchise in the CSA T20 league –
Tymal Mills
Tymal Mills is already a part of the Mumbai Indians set-up, as they had bought him in the previous IPL mega auction for a decent amount of money. It won’t be a surprise for anyone if Mumbai Indians offer Tymal Mills a contract for the CSA T20 league as well, because he brings left-arm pace to the table, which is always a very useful resource in T20 cricket.
What makes Tymal Mills unique is the fact that he can crank up high speeds, but he can also bring his change-ups into play very easily and can drop his speeds significantly to outfox the batsman when the batsman is on charge in the latter stages of the innings. Mills has had a fair amount of success in the English T20 circuit.
Liam Livingstone
Probably nobody in world cricket right now hits the ball farther than Liam Livingstone. Punjab Kings, the franchise whom Liam Livingstone plays for in the IPL, haven’t got the ownership rights of any team in the CSA league. So, the other teams will be looking to secure the services of the hard-hitting right-hander, who can also contribute decently with the ball. Mumbai Indians, most likely, will also have their eyes set on Livingstone.
Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler is probably the most sought-after T20 cricketer in the world because he is capable to bat in different gears and in different conditions. Buttler has played for Mumbai Indians in the past and it was, in fact, with Mumbai Indians that Buttler won his only IPL trophy to date in 2017.
Buttler is currently in the form of his life and he showed that in the previous IPL where he left everyone behind in the orange cap race quite comfortably. With him being a captaincy option as well, he will be an attractive prospect for Mumbai Indians.
