In a shocking development that has taken place in England cricket, star all-rounder Ben Stokes has decided to call it a day on his one-day international career. The all-rounder, who won the 2019 Cricket World Cup Final’s Man of the Match award, will don the England cricket team’s jersey for the last time in an ODI tomorrow against the South African cricket team at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.
Stokes is the skipper of the England Test cricket team and an important member of the nation’s white-ball squads as well. However, it seems like he wants to focus only on Tests and T20 cricket now as he has decided to quit the 50-over format.
Fans will always remember him for his remarkable contribution to the success that the England cricket team achieved in the 50-over World Cup which happened in 2019 in the UK.
With the next 50-over World Cup set to happen in 2023, fans expected Stokes to at least remain active in the ODI format till the World Cup, but it looks like he wants another all-rounder to take his place and cement it in the playing XI by the time the next World Cup arrives.

Crazy to think that the 2019 World Cup will end up being the only one that Ben Stokes ever plays in.
During it, he scored 465 runs @ 66.42 with a strike rate of 93.18. When you factor in that final as well – that's some way of leaving his mark on the tournament/format.
