Indian batter Manoj Tiwary was one of the big names that went unsold at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The right-handed batter previously played four franchises in the league, namely Rising Pune Supergiant, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.
While Tiwary is now a Sports Minister of Bengal, he decided to register himself for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. He has a lot of experience under his belt. Also, he scored the winning runs for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2012.
Many fans thought that a reliable and experienced middle-order batter like Tiwary would earn a contract at the mega auction. However, none of the 10 franchises bid for him.
Yesterday, during the match between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Manoj Tiwary posted this tweet at 11:25 PM, which was during the innings of the SRH team, where the finishers could not impress much.
“Still available. #LSGvsSRH,” tweeted Tiwary.
Still available 😊 #LSGvSRH

As a sports fan, it has made me unhappy: Manoj Tiwary spoke about BCCI-Virat Kohli controversy in the past
Tiwary does not play cricket regularly now, but he has offered his views on the recent happenings in the sport. In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, Manoj gave his honest opinion on the controversy involving BCCI and Virat Kohli about the captaincy position.
“There are mature people on both sides, so these things shouldn’t come out in public. As a sports fan, it has made me unhappy. What it does is it transfers the energy, whether good or bad, to others, because whoever is close to one individual will subconsciously keep thinking about the controversy,” Tiwary had said.
While Tiwary went unsold at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, it does not mean that he will not play in IPL 2022 at all. He can still come back to the competition as a replacement if any team needs him.
