Ever since the new management took over, there have been plenty of experiments in place. One such idea that has been executed by them is the promotion of Ravindra Jadeja in limited-overs cricket. After the second T20I against Sri Lanka, Ravindra Jadeja talks about Rohit Sharma‘s influence on his role change in the batting order.
Ravindra Jadeja talks about Rohit Sharma’s influence
So far, Jaddu has been limited to a role at No.6 or No.7 in the batting order. However, he is one of the most improved Indian batsmen in recent years. The southpaw has added power-hitting to his attributes and this has worked well in IPL, as well.
In the first T20I against Sri Lanka, he played at No.4 but did not get a lot of balls to face. However, in the second game, he came in at No.5 when the team was in a slightly tricky situation. Jaddu was brilliant as he struck 45 runs in 18 balls to help India win the game.
After the match, he spoke about the idea behind his promotion. The all-rounder said that Rohit Sharma has trust in him and believes in his ability. He revealed that he would try to make maximum use of the opportunities and go on and try to win games for India. Here is what the Saurashtra-based player said:

Jaddu will be important for Team India’s success
It is only recently that Jadeja has returned from an injury. India has a few important tournaments lined up for the next year or so. Probably the best spin-bowling all-rounder in world cricket at the moment, Jaddu adds terrific balance to the playing XI.
Hence, Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma will want the player to be at his best form and fitness. With him in the XI, India will have more flexibility about the No.6 role. Going forward, this becomes crucial for the team’s success.
