Royal Rumble 2022 is fast approaching. The WWE Day 1 premium live event is in the history books now. All fans are looking forward to the Royal Rumble show now. The company has already announced four matches for the premium live event, scheduled to take place in St. Louis. Many fans expect a host of surprise entrants in Royal Rumble 2022.
The first two matches are obviously the traditional 30-man and 30-woman Royal Rumble matches. The other two are of the RAW brand. Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley in a dream match, while The Miz and Maryse will lock horns with Edge and Beth Phoenix in a mixed tag team match.
Speaking of the Royal Rumble matches, fans are always excited to see surprise entrants, and here are five Superstars who could stun the fans with their returns this year.
1. The Rock could be one of the Royal Rumble surprise entrants
The Rock has been rumored to return to WWE for one final run since a long time. However, The Brahma Bull has never been able to return because of his hectic schedule. With his cousin Roman Reigns needing a WrestleMania opponent, it should not be a surprise if The Rock returns to the Rumble.
2. Paige
Retired WWE Superstar Paige could be one of the surprise entrants in the women’s Royal Rumble match. Like The Rock, many rumors have hinted that Paige could return to the ring soon.
3. Trish Stratus
Another retired WWE Superstar who could return as a shocking entrant in the women’s Rumble in Trish Stratus. The WWE Hall of Famer is reportedly interested in a match with Alexa Bliss before retirement.
4. Bayley
Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley is currently out with injury. If she recovers in time for the Rumble, she could make her comeback and probably even win the whole match.
5. Lacey Evans could be one of the Royal Rumble surprise entrants
Lacey Evans took a break from WWE due to pregnancy. She has become a mother for a second time now and has been working hard to get back in shape for a return. Evans could return to the company on January 29.
