5 Foreign Players CSK Might Target For IPL 2023

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings had the worst season of their IPL history in 2022. Playing under the captaincy of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, the Chennai-based franchise won only four out of 14 matches in the league stage. Before the tournament ended, CSK was already looking forward to IPL 2023.

The Chennai Super Kings tried out some new players, and it seemed like they need better options in the overseas department. Here are the five players CSK might target for IPL 2023.

1. CSK might target Dawid Malan for IPL 2023

Chennai Super Kings have got their new opening pair in Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, Robin Uthappa could not impress much at the number three position. Someone like Dawid Malan who has done well for England in T20I cricket could be a good option to bat at number three for Chennai.

2. CSK might target Mitchell Starc for IPL 2023

Mitchell Starc made himself unavailable for IPL 2022, but he might play in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. Since Chennai need a gun fast bowler, they could opt for Starc’s services next year.

3. CSK could go for Sam Curran at IPL 2023 Auction

Sam Curran emerged as a match-winner for CSK in IPL 2020 and 2021. He was injured this year, but he could make a comeback to CSK in 2023.

4. Carlos Brathwaite

Chennai Super Kings always love to have all-rounders in their squad. A big-match player like Carlos Brathwaite could be an excellent addition to the team because he is a pace-bowling option and a big hitter.

5. Curtis Campher

Many fans would know that Curtis Campher was a net bowler for Chennai. In the last season, they signed their net bowlers who did well for the team. Irish player Campher could join the likes of Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana in that list.

Vinay

Vinay Chhabria is a cricket and WWE enthusiast who supports Roman Reigns and Gujarat Titans. He has been following cricket for the last 15 years and WWE since 2016.
