WWE has been a nurturing ground for love stories among its male and female superstars for many years now. These athletes naturally develop strong connections and romantic relationships by spending ample time with each other together.
Over WWE’s extensive history, numerous relationships have flourished across different eras. The company has often highlighted these dynamic and compelling couples both off-screen and in their storylines and surprisingly wrestling each other as well. Here are the top four WWE couples who have squared off against each other:
1. Miro and CJ Perry
Miro and CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana and Rusev in WWE, formed an alliance during their time together in NXT in 2013. They rose up to the ranks of WWE’s main roster together and continued their partnership which also translated into their real-life marriage in 2016. However, in a storyline in 2018, Miro and CJ Perry were on opposite ends when she started having an affair with Bobby Lashley.
This led to a mixed tag team match between them, Miro and his partner, Liv Morgan on RAW that was an exciting showdown to witness as both husband and wife became sworn enemies.
2. Keith Lee and Michin
Long before Keith Lee and Michin came to WWE NXT, both were top athletes on the independent circuit. In a show for Beyond Wrestling, the future husband and wife squared off against each other in an intergender match.
The exciting back and forth culminated in Michin’s victory over Lee. Not only this, the duo were even aligned together in WWE NXT and now work in opposite promotions.
3. Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae
Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae are one of the most highly skilled and exciting WWE couples of all time. They became a highly popular duo during their stint in NXT and now making a mark on the main roster.
However, LeRae became prominent for her stint on the independent scene wrestling in inter-gender matches. One of those matches came against her future husband, Johnny Gargano at a show for Absolutely Intense Wrestling and emerged victorious over Johnny Wrestling.
4. Mikadze and Sasha Banks
Former WWE superstar Sasha Banks and current costume designer for the company, Sarath Ton aka Mikadze are another odd couple who have squared off against each other inside the squared circle. The future married couple were part of an intergender fatal-4-way match in Beyond Wrestling. Although neither won the match, but it was Mikadze who eliminated the former Legit Boss from the bout and pinned her shoulders to the mat.
