WWE is known to be the global juggernaut of the sports and entertainment world. For every WWE superstar who aspires to ascend as a main-event talent, winning a WWE World championship is a top accolade to etch on their resumes. For years, the company has seen multiple high-caliber stars reach the top of the mountain by capturing the World title.
However, in today’s landscape, even though many of those World champions still prevail, there is a slim chance of witnessing these particular individuals clinch another world championship in their respective careers. Here are 4 possibilities for former WWE champions who may never win another World title in WWE:
1. Rey Mysterio
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has had an illustrious career spanning over three decades. While he continues to be an active part of the WWE roster even today, his last World title win came almost 15 years ago.

Moreover, with his status as a veteran and looking to elevate talent around him, Rey Mysterio’s chances of tasting World title gold are very much bleak.
2. Jinder Mahal
Jinder Mahal made history in 2017 becoming the first Indian-origin WWE Champion. However, his career went downhill following the end of his title reign, and never recovered. However, while the start of 2024 looked promising for the Modern-Day Maharaja, things took a shocking turn when Mahal was released from his contract recently, throwing his chances to become the World champion in WWE in the future.
3. Kofi Kingston
Kofi Kingston has been one of the most accomplished WWE veterans in today’s roster. From being a multi-time tag team champion to clinching the WWE title in historic fashion at WrestleMania 35, Kofi has done it all. With his involvement in the tag team scene and spending multiple years in WWE using his experience to build the next crop of stars, it seems his days of becoming a World champion again have passed its prime.
4. John Cena
The GOAT of WWE, John Cena is remarkably one of the most successful World Champions in WWE over the years, clinching a record-tying 16 titles. Moreover, the fans have been longing for years for Cena to break Ric Flair’s record and win his 17th World title.

But with his part-time schedule and prime years as an in-ring competitor behind him, John Cena doesn’t seem to clinch another run as the World Champion. This would mean that the fans would possibly not see Cena become a 17-time World champion in WWE.
