Bangladesh and Pakistan are currently involved in a game in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Both teams need a win in the game to enter the semis and hence, the fixture was expected to be spicy. The conflict was further heightened by the dismissal of Shakib Al Hasan, which was debatable. Here, we take a look as Aakash Chopra reacts to the controversial dismissal of Shakib Al Hasan against Pakistan.

Pakistan has one leg in the semis

With the start they had in the T20 World Cup, not many expected Pakistan to reach the semis. However, in all probability, the team will play the semi-finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup. With South Africa losing to the Netherlands, Pakistan now just needs to chase 128 runs to book a spot in the final four.

Against Bangladesh, Pakistan came up with a brilliant show with the ball. Star pacer Shaheen Afridi took four wickets and dented the batting attack of Bangladesh. Shadab Khan, as usual, was brilliant and all of it augered well for the outfit. Now, one of the batters must hold one end of the crease and it would be an easy win for the Pakistan squad.

In the 11th over of the Bangladesh innings, there were a few moments of controversy. Shakib Al Hasan was given out LBW in the bowling of Shadab Khan. On review, it was clear that the ball had hit the bat first. However, the third umpire had other ideas. He felt that the spike was due to the bat hitting the ground. That said, there was a clear gap between the bat and the ground.

If Shakib was available at the crease, Bangladesh could have targeted a score close to 150. Aakash Chopra also felt that the decision by the umpire was poor. We take a look at what he said:
