4 Cities That Have A Good Chance Of Being A Part Of IPL 2022

While the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League has not yet culminated, fans already have their eyes on the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. The main reason why so many fans are excited for IPL 2022 is because there will be two new teams in the competition. For the first time in over a decade, there will be a 10-team IPL season in 2022.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, one of the main goals that the BCCI wants to achieve by introducing two new teams is to correct the balance between teams of north and south India. As per the claims, the BCCI is targeting the Hindi-speaking market for the new franchises. New franchise owners can base their teams in the six shortlisted cities. In this article today, we will glance at the four cities that have a good chance of being a part of IPL 2022.

1. Ahmedabad is most likely to get a team in IPL 2022

The home to the largest cricket stadium in the entire world, Ahmedabad, is the number one contender to host a new team in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. It should not be a surprise if Ahmedabad joins the Indian Premier League in 2022.

2. Guwahati

Guwahati is home to the Barsapara Stadium. The fans of northeast India have their own football club, and if a franchise owner decides, then Guwahati can become the base of the new franchise. Rajasthan Royals planned to play home matches in Guwahati last year, showing there is a lot of potentials.

3. Ranchi

The home of Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, Ranchi is another contender from the east to become home to the new franchise. It will be exciting to see if Dhoni stays with CSK in 2022, and then Ranchi’s team makes an entry.

4. Lucknow is most likely to get a team in IPL 2022

Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium has received praise from fans and experts. International matches have happened on this ground. Perhaps, Lucknow could host one of the new two IPL teams next year.
