Indian batter Ajinkya Rahane has broken the shackles and has returned to form after being under heat for a long time. The right-hander after setting the stage on fire on Da1 with his century took it to another level and registered a double hundred in the Ranji Trophy game against Hyderabad.
Asked to bat first, after Mumbai lost Suryakumar Yadav for 90 runs, Ajinkya Rahane made sure that he didn’t let the opposition take the momentum as he batted staggering well hitting balls in gaps and scoring runs all over the park.
Rahane was at his classical best as he smashed a crucial 206 runs partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal and then paved his way through another First-Class century. However, after achieving the feat, the right-hander didn’t stop as he kept batting the same way and scoring runs with ease.
His staggering stroke play saw him reach his double hundred and put his team in a dominating position. Rahane scored 204 runs in 261 balls and also smashed 26 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. His knock helped Mumbai go past 500 runs.

This double ton will mean a lot for him as would be keen to make a comeback in the Indian side. Rahane was axed from India’s squad for the home Test series against Sri Lanka last year after poor outings for more than a year. He then suffered an injury and never found himself back in the side.
