3 unlikely retentions earlier but could now be retained after massive success in regional T20 leagues

There have been many T20 leagues happening right now. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and almost every other state has a own T20 league now. With some players doing extremely well, some of the IPL franchises could also be forced to change their decisions. Here, we take a look at the list of three unlikely retentions earlier but could now be retained after massive success in regional T20 leagues.

1) Ayush Badoni

Ayush Badoni recently scored a daddy hundred in the Delhi Premier League. At any level, this is a massive feat, especially in the T20 format.

LSG might want to change their hiring and retention policy. They could place an eye on the future and hence, they could retain Ayush Badoni before the next campaign.

2) Abhinav Manohar

Abhinav Manohar was one of the unlikely retentions earlier but could now be retained after massive success in regional T20 leagues. He hardly played in IPL 2024. Hence, many felt that he would have been released by Gujarat Titans. However, the franchise could consider retaining him.

Abhinav Manohar has been smacking sixes for fun recently. He is uncapped and GT would not need a big fee to retain him. He would be the ideal No.4 for the side going forward. Hence, he could be retained.

3) Manoj Bhandage

It would be too distant to think that Manoj Bhandage could be retained by RCB. However, RCB has pulled off some bold moves in the past and it would not be a surprise if they do it again. Manoj is yet to play for RCB although he has been with the side in the last two years.

Manoj has made a name for himself as a finisher. He also bowls decently and considering he is a left-handed batter, he is rare. Therefore, RCB might, as well, retain the cricketer.
