Teams such as KKR are yet to have a clear wicket-keeping option while RCB has to go with either Dinesh Karthik or Anuj Rawat. For CSK, there is no backup for MS Dhoni. On the other hand, there are teams which have a luxury in this regard. They have tremendous depth and hence, wicket-keeping is a matter of least concern to them. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams with the best wicket-keeping options for IPL 2024.
1) Lucknow Super Giants (KL Rahul, Nicholas Pooran and Quinton de Kock)
LSG has as many as three wicket-keeping options for IPL 2024. They were also available in IPL 2024. All three of these players will be a part of the playing XI.
Interestingly, it will be a part-time wicket-keeper who could actually keep the wickets. KL Rahul has to audition for a spot in the Indian Team and hence, he could be the wicket-keeper and could also bat in the middle-order.
2) Rajasthan Royals (Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel and Jos Buttler)
Rajasthan Royals is one of the teams with the best wicket-keeping options for IPL 2024. Two of the best wicket-keepers in the T20 format are available at RR.
Recently, Dhruv Jurel has come onboard and he is now a capped Indian cricketer, as well. Hence, there is sufficient depth for this team when it comes to the options behind the gloves. Sanju could be the keeper who could start.
3) Punjab Kings (Jitesh Sharma, Jonny Bairstow and Prabhsimran Singh)
Punjab Kings’ top-order has two wicket-keeping options in the form of Jonny Bairstow and Prabhsimran Singh. Interestingly, not long ago, they had a part-time keeper Bhanuka Rajapaksa with the gloves.
Jitesh Sharma, though, will be the obvious choice to take the gloves. He is currently with the Indian Team and offers more solidity behind the stumps.
