In the history of IPL, we have seen that the franchises rely the most on overseas pacers. Every team would have at least one overseas pacer in the playing XI. Some teams build their bowling attacks around overseas pacers. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams with the best overseas pacers for IPL 2024.
1) Mumbai Indians – Gerald Coetzee, Dilshan Madushanka, Jason Behrendorff and Nuwan Thushara
In the last few seasons, MI has been using the policy of having two foreign pacers in the playing XI. In the last two editions, they were not able to do that well. However, they now have the balance to make that happen in IPL 2024.
Gerald Coetzee will surely be one of the pacers in the side. Along with him, one of Dilshan Madushanka or Nuwan Thushara will play. MI can also afford three overseas pacers and hence, we could see both the Sri Lankan players also featuring.
2) Punjab Kings – Kagiso Rabada, Nathan Ellis, Chris Woakes and Sam Curran
Punjab Kings is one of the teams with the best overseas pacers for IPL 2024. PBKS has a good mix of Indian and overseas pacers for IPL 2024.
Kagiso Rabada will lead the attack in this regard. While Sam Curran will don the role of an all-rounder, Nathan Ellis will be Rabada’s backup. Woakes might also get a few games based on the conditions.
3) Sunrisers Hyderabad – Pat Cummins, Marco Jansen and Fazalhaq Farooqi
SRH has a solid pace attack for IPL 2024. Unfotunately, though, they can afford only one foreign pacer in the playing XI. It is likely to be Pat Cummins.
Fazalhaq Farooqi is an underrated T20 bowler right now. He might not get a lot of games in IPL 2024. Marco Jansen, who was supposed to be a starter, will not find himself on the bench because of the arrival of Pat Cummins.
