As per a few reports, KKR is in consideration to release Andre Russell before the next season. It is not a big surprise because of his age, fitness history and also his declining skills. Nevertheless, KKR could use the RTM Card to get him back and there will be plenty of other outfits which would also be interested in the all-rounder’s services. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams which could target Andre Russell if he is released by KKR.
1) Gujarat Titans
Ever since Hardik Pandya left the franchise, GT has suffered an imbalance. They need a top all-rounder to arrest this issue and hence, Russell could be a perfect target for the side.
As a finisher, he could be a fine option along with Rahul Tewatia in the playing XI. With the ball, Russell can be useful in Ahmedabad with the boundaries being big.
2) Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH is one of the teams which could target Andre Russell if he is released by KKR
Russell and Klaasen in the final overs will be a good recipee for destruction. Also, Russell provides a few overs with the ball, which will further add balance to the side.
3) Mumbai Indians
MI is yet to find a replacement for Kieron Pollard in the playing XI. Tim David was not a great signing and the franchise could now look at other options.
With Hardik Pandya finding form, the finishing problem is more or less solved. However, a partner for him is needed and there would be no better signing than Andre Russell. MI is known to sign galacticos and hence, we cannot rule them out of the picture.
