1) Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals probably made a mistake in releasing Jos Buttler. He has been a match-winner and he still had a few years on his side.
Nevertheless, RR was desperate to get him back. However, their budget was low and it was hard to get back the Englishman.
2) Punjab Kings wanted Jos Buttler for IPL 2025
Punjab Kings is one of the teams which bid for Jos Buttler in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions before Gujarat Titans signed him. For some time, PBKS showed interest in the English captain.
Looking at Punjab’s combination now, Jos would have fit in completely to the squad. The team needed an opener and the English cricketer was one of the best options. Later, the franchise signed Josh Inglis.
3) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG does not have a settled opening combination. Had they signed Jos Buttler, they could have had a top opening combination.
Now, the franchise will want Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh to do well as openers for the side. Rishabh Pant is also an option at the top.
