As per reports, Mohammad Amir is likely to get his British passport within a few months. With this, he might be eligible to play in the Indian Premier League. 1) Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians have not been able to replace Trent Boult properly in the last two seasons. They have tried a lot of options but a good left-arm powerplay pacer has not been available for them.
In this regard, they could target someone like Amir. He is experienced and can pick wickets with the new ball. Therefore, Rohit Sharma’s team is on this list.
2) Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the teams that can target Mohammad Amir for IPL 2024. RCB has tried options such as Wayne Parnell and David Willey as Mohammed Siraj’s opening partners. However, none of them was consistent.
Therefore, if Mohammad Amir would be available, RCB would have a more robust attack in this regard. Josh Hazlewood is also available but if he is not fit, then Amir would be a good option to have.
3) Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR struggled to pick early wickets in IPL 2023. Umesh Yadav was not in great form and also, the team combination did not allow KKR to pick Tim Southee.
With the return of Shreyas Iyer, KKR can surely select a foreign pacer in the playing XI. Since KKR did not have any left-arm pace options in the recent season, they can look at someone like Amir. He would offer the cutting edge that the bowling line-up of KKR needs with the new ball.
