Adam Zampa has pulled out of IPL 2024. Rajasthan Royals would have liked to have him in the playing XI when they travelled to venues such as Chepauk. However, with him not there, the team would now focus on some other options available in the market. On that note, here, we take a look at three players whom Rajasthan Royals could target to replace Adam Zampa for IPL 2024.
1) Akeal Hosein
R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal are excellent spinners. However, the team does not have a reliable SLAO. This can hamper the team when it comes to matchups against a few opposition batters.
Akeal Hosein would be an excellent option in this regard. He is one of the best spinners in the game right now. Apart from his bowling, Akeal can also be useful in the lower order as a big-hitter. Hence, he would be the ideal candidate for RR to replace Zampa.
2) Tabraiz Shamsi
If RR is looking for some variety, they could sign their old player Tabraiz Shamsi. A left-arm wrist-spinner is rare in world cricket. Apart from Kuldeep Yadav and Noor Ahmed, IPL 2024 does not have a strong presence of left-arm wrist spinners.
In the 2023 ODI World Cup, we saw Shamsi wreak havoc at the Eden Gardens. At venues as such, he could come into the side instead of one of the West Indian finishers.
3) Adil Rashid
Adil Rashid is one of the players whom Rajasthan Royals could target to replace Adam Zampa for IPL 2024. If RR wants to stick with a player like Zampa, they could go for Adil Rashid. The Englishman offers similar experience and also very similar attributes to the Aussie.
When paired with the likes of Yuzi and Ash, Adil Rashid could be even more dangerous. The team likes experienced players and hence, there is a chance that they could pick someone like Rashid.
