3 players who could shockingly go unsold in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions

Surprises are common in every auction. Teams evolve in the way they think and there are many other factors they consider apart from what we see on the surface level. Hence, some top players might not find a bidder at the auctions. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players who could shockingly go unsold in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) Anrich Nortje

Injuries and poor form in IPL 2024 have been the reason behind the drop in the value of his stocks. With so many options available, Nortje might not even find a bidder at the event.

Only if some teams do not have the budget to find their preferred pace leader can fall back on Nortje for their next IPL cycle.

2) Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram is one of the players who could shockingly go unsold in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Just a few months ago, many felt that one of the teams could target Markram as a skipper. However, at the moment, it will not be a shock if he does not even find a bidder.

Markram’s form has been poor in recent months. In the IPL, as well, his last few games have not been perfect. Teams may not take a punt on such an inconsistent foreign batter. Also, Markram does not add an X-Factor which further does not help him. However, if available near the base price, some teams could eye him as a backup.

3) Wanindu Hasaranga

Yes, he had injury issues but Wanindu Hasaranga was sold at his base price in the last auctions. Moreover, his overall performance has dropped and in the IPL, he has not done well as an all-rounder.

Plus, teams now look at a foreign spinner with a mystery element. Hasaranga is still the traditional leg-spinner, a role which can be taken by an Indian. Hence, he could go unsold at the auctions.
