It is a tough time to be an Australian selector. Marcus Stoinis has retired from ODIs and hence, he will not play in the upcoming Champions Trophy. Here, we take a look at the list of three players who could replace Marcus Stoinis for the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy.
1) Cooper Connolly
Cooper Connolly is one of the candidates Australia can consider. Since there is no left-arm spin option for the side, the youngster can step in.
However, the focus will be on his batting slot. It would not be a surprise if he plays in the top order for Australia in the tournament.
2) Jake Fraser-McGurk could replace Marcus Stoinis for ICC 2025 Champions Trophy

With Stoinis not there, Josh Inglis is very important for the side to finish games. Hence, he cannot be an opener for the side.
Therefore, JFM has to be an option alongside Travis Head because Mitchell Marsh is also ruled out of the competition.
3) Beau Webster
He may not be an established player in the ODI format. However, he did well in the lower middle order and also with the ball in the BGT.
The format is different but since Webster can do some big-hitting, he is someone the selectors can discuss for the tournament.
