Royal Challengers Bangalore did not have a great outing in the IPL 2024 Auctions. Their agenda was clear but they failed in the execution of their ideas. This could have an adverse impact on their performance next season. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three talented players RCB surprisingly did not target in IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Shardul Thakur
Shardul Thakur went to CSK for just INR 4 Cr. Yes, his bowling might not be suitable at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, the team needed experienced Indian bowlers and Shardul was one of them.
He is surely capable of providing at least one or two overs a game. He can also add value with the bat. At other venues, he can take a lot of wickets, as well. Hence, it was a surprise that RCB did not go for him.
2) Kartik Tyagi
RCB was looking for players who could hit the deck hard. Hence, they went for players such as Alzarri Joseph. However, despite Kartik Tyagi
Tyagi may have injury issues but he is an investment for the future. He has a lot of variations which would further develop in the next few years. Hence, missing out on Kartik was a loss for the side.
3) Mujeeb Ur Rahman
Mujeeb Ur Rahman is one of the talented players RCB surprisingly did not target in IPL 2024 Auctions. RCB has the weakest spin attack for IPL 2023. Karn Sharma, Himanshu Sharma and Mayank Dagar are the lead spinners while Glenn Maxwell is the spin-bowling all-rounder.
In this regard, at least for venues such as Lucknow and Chennai, RCB might have needed a solid spinner. They had to get this player from overseas because not many Indian options were available. Instead of Tom Curran, they could have easily gone for him.
