Mitchell Marsh will not be a part of the rest of IPL 2024. It is a big blow for Delhi Capitals, who were looking to climb in the points table. 1) Aaron Hardie
Aaron Hardie would be very close to being a like-to-like replacement for Mitchell Marsh. Ricky Ponting likes Australian players and Aaron could be a realistic pick for him.
Also, the balance on the Delhi Capitals side would improve with Aaron Hardie. Apart from his batting, he can also add value with his medium-pace bowling. This is something that could be useful to the team.
2) Colin Munro
Colin Munro is one of the players Delhi Capitals can target to replace Mitchell Marsh for IPL 2024. If Delhi needs some experience in the middle order, they could go for someone like Colin Munro.
Although he started his career as an opener, in recent years, Colin Munro has gained prominence as a middle-order batter. Delhi Capitals might need this, especially after the likes of Axar Patel have been inconsistent. Munro also adds experience to the middle order.
3) Matthew Short
Short played a few games for Punjab Kings last season. However, he was not able to do well and in the end, he was released by the side. The Aussie did not find any takers at the IPL 2024 Auctions.
Nevertheless, he would be a decent choice to replace Marsh in Delhi Capitals. Short is someone who can open the batting, play at No.3 or even operate further down the order. Plus, he provides right-arm off-spin, a bowling type that DC must depend only on Lalit Yadav. Therefore, Short is on this list.
