3 players aged under 35 who might shockingly retire after the 2024 T20 World Cup

In recent years, we have seen players taking bold decisions when it is about their international careers. T20 leagues across the globe have allowed the players to take these decisions. 35 is not the age for retirement. However, a few players aged less than 35 could quit international cricket. Here, we take a look at the list of three players aged under 35 who might shockingly retire after the 2024 T20 World Cup.

1) Quinton de Kock

Time and again, Quinton de Kock has surprised us with his retirement decisions. Before turning 30, he retired from Tests. Ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup, at his peak, QDK retired from ODIs.

It would not be a surprise if he hung up his boots from the T20I format, as well. The next T20 World Cup is in 2026 only. South African is not dependent on him for his glove-work. Hence, QDK will be under pressure and could even be dropped from the side.

2) Mohammad Amir

Mohammad Amir is one of the players aged under 35 who might shockingly retire after the 2024 T20 World Cup. The Pakistan pacer withdrew his retirement to take part in this tournament.

Most likely, he will retire again after the 2024 T20 World Cup. Pakistan will need more variety and Shaheen is a similar type of bowler. Amir might want to play the Champions Trophy in Pakistan but at the moment, it looks very unlikely.

3) Trent Boult

Boult has already expressed to the management that he may be available only for selected tournaments. He is 34 and may not be able to play a lot of tournaments.

Boult could rather focus on the T20 leagues. With the next T20 WC only in 2026, it does not make sense for Boult to remain in this format. Therefore, he is also on this list of players who could retire after the ongoing event.
