3 other teams which must use a pinch-hitter as an opener like KKR

Sunil Narine‘s performance as an opener against RCB was the turning point in the game. Such a strategy could give the team plenty of advantage. Similarly, a few other teams could take cue and try to adopt this strategy. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three other teams which must use a pinch-hitter as an opener like KKR.

1) Delhi Capitals

One of the changes DC has to make is to seperate David Warner and Mitchell Marsh at the top of the order. If the team is not going to use Prithvi Shaw, then they can promote someone and provide him the license to break free.

Abishek Porel and Lalit Yadav are some of the options DC has. Yes, both of these players are genuine batters but they could be given extra freedom to go after the bowlers.

2) Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB does not have a strong opening pair suited for the modern T20 game. They did well last season but are failing to replicate it in the ongoing campaign. Hence, this team is also on this list.

V Vyshak and Mayank Dagar are the bowling all-rounders whom RCB can use as a pinch-hitter. Especially Vyshak can be a good option because he seems to have got the power to clear the ground frequently.

3) Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans is one of the teams which must use a pinch-hitter as an opener like KKR. Wriddhiman Saha, ever since he started opening for GT, has got the license to express himself. However, it has not come off for him in this edition till now.

With someone like Rashid Khan and R Sai Kishore in the squad, GT could actually experiment by sending one of them as an opener. The likes of Umesh Yadav can also be a good fit. Saha could anyways come in after the fall of the first wicket so that he can play against the slightly older ball.
