3 key acquisitions RCB must make in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions

Royal Challengers Bengaluru should be content with the season they had. They were out of the race at the start and a strong finish meant that they could reach the playoffs. Now, the focus will be on the future. The franchise will look to make the best use of the next auctions. Here, we take a look at the list of three key acquisitions RCB must make in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) A top-tier left-handed middle-order batter

This aspect has been lacking for RCB in the last few years. Mahipal Lomror was there but he was used more as a finisher. Anyways, he was not accomplished for this role.

In this regard, RCB must target a solid left-hander who can slot in at No.4 or No.5. This would aid the squad when it comes to matchups, especially against left-arm spinners.

2) A quality leg-spinner

Wanindu Hasaranga is a player whom RCB could target again in the future. For the Chinnaswamy Stadium, a quality leg-spinner is a must. Karn Sharma tried his best but he is a veteran and may not be the ideal choice for the future.

Even a youngster like Mayank Markhande should do the job for RCB. This would help the team in establishing variety in the bowling attack.

3) A wicket-keeper who can bat in the lower middle order

A wicket-keeper who can bat in the lower middle order is one of the key acquisitions RCB must make in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Basically, RCB needs to replace Dinesh Karthik, which is extremely difficult in the current market.

Some of the options available are Dhruv Jurel and Jitesh Sharma. Both have had inconsistent seasons in IPL 2024. The likes of Tristan Stubbs and Nicholas Pooran may not be available. Hence, the job gets tougher for RCB in the coming auctions to find their DK replacement.
