3 IPL franchises that can target Rahul Dravid as Head Coach if he is not India Coach after ODI WC

It appears that Rahul Dravid may not be the Indian Head Coach after the 2023 ODI World Cup. He has not been impressive in his stint, so far. However, things could change if India wins ODI WC. Nevertheless, a few teams in IPL could be following what happens here. If Dravid becomes available as a Head Coach, he would be a fine acquisition. On that note, here, we take a look at three IPL franchises that can target Rahul Dravid as Head Coach if he is not India Coach after ODI WC.

1) Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore have reportedly let go of Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar. While there are a lot of names running around, it may not be a bad idea to wait and approach Rahul Dravid.

Dravid is actually a good team constructor and he likes to build his team around youngsters. RCB needs this because most of their squad members are on the other side of their thirties. The franchise would also produce a positive vibe if they bring their first-ever IPL skipper Dravid back into the setup.

2) Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings is one of the IPL franchises that can target Rahul Dravid as Head Coach if he is not India Coach after ODI WC. Trevor Bayliss is a top coach but he made some decisions that failed to do well last season.

The franchise needs to back its coaches and players. If they want to start fresh, they could look for Dravid’s involvement. His presence would help the franchise at least pivot to one role for a long time.

3) Rajasthan Royals

It was at RR that Dravid made his debut as a Head Coach. Kumar Sangakkara has done well as a Director of Cricket but as a Head Coach, he fell short last season.

If Dravid is available, he will be a top option for the franchise. The former India cricketer already knows the franchise well and some of the players in the team have already played for him. Therefore, RR is on this list.
