As per reports, Tom Curran could get ruled out of IPL 2024. He suffered a knee injury in the Big Bash League and this forced him out of the competition. RCB could now also look at some of their former players to replace Curran. Here, we take a look at three former RCB players who could be Tom Curran’s replacement at RCB if he gets ruled out.
1) Chris Jordan
RCB will have their problems in the death overs in IPL 2024. Apart from Mohammed Siraj, they do not have a reliable option for the final few overs.
Yes, Chris Jordan might have been expensive in the recent IPL editions but he is one of the experienced options available in the market. Hence, it would not be a surprise if RCB goes for the Englishman.
2) Daniel Sams
Daniel Sams went unsold at the recent auctions. Not long ago, the Aussie was a part of RCB. The franchise needs a backup for Reece Topley. Also, Sams is close to being a replacement for Tom Curran.
In Sams, RCB will get the batting depth which the likes of Andy Flower like a lot. In fact, last season, Sams was at LSG, which was coached by LSG. Hence, he could be a target for the veteran coach for IPL 2024, as well.
3) Tabraiz Shamsi
Tabraiz Shamsi is one of the former RCB players who could be Tom Curran’s replacement at RCB if he gets ruled out of IPL 2024. The franchise could surprise many if they pick a spinner as a replacement for Curran.
It would also make sense as RCB already have quite a few options in the pace department. Shamsi adds variety and experience to the spin unit. Therefore, he could be a decent choice for the team. It needs to be noted that Shamsi has played for RCB before.
