As per reports, Royal Challengers Bangalore have decided to part ways with Sanjay Bangar and Mike Hesson. This means that there is a huge vacancy in the backroom staff of the franchise. Therefore, RCB will have to make a move fast in the market. On that note, here, we take a look at three former players whom RCB can appoint as the new Head Coach.
1) Eoin Morgan
There are many reports suggesting that Eoin Morgan is looking to make a career as a Head Coach. As a skipper, he was a brilliant strategist and was also involved in team construction that also won trophies. Therefore, he might do well as a Head Coach.
RCB could be a good option for Morgan to start his career on the big stage. For the franchise, as well, some fresh ideas would help them in doing well in the upcoming campaigns. Therefore, Morgan is a part of the list.
2) Shane Watson
Shane Watson is one of the former players whom RCB can appoint as the new Head Coach. Delhi Capitals recently parted ways with Shane Watson as the Head Coach. Hence, he could be an option, as well, for RCB.
At least going by his views as a commentator, Shane Watson seems to be a shrewd tactician. He is definitely in line with the modern era of T20 cricket and would actually be a decent signing for Watson. Yes, this move would come with its share of risks but Watto is well-equipped to handle them.
3) AB de Villiers
Finally, it is one name that would bring hope to the fans of RCB if he comes back to the franchise. While he did well as a skipper for South Africa, not much is known about his role as a manager of the team and its tactics.
However, if ABD wants to try this out, RCB is surely the best option for him. The franchise can also not rule out such an option, especially because of the South African’s contribution to the setup.
