3 current or former assistant coaches who can become the new Head Coach of Delhi Capitals

Ricky Ponting is not the Head Coach of Delhi Capitals. The parties recently split ways. It will be interesting to see whom Delhi appoints for the role. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three current or former assistant coaches who can become the new Head Coach of the Delhi Capitals.

1) Pravin Amre

Pravin Amre has been the assistant coach of Delhi Capitals for a while now. He is also regarded as an excellent coach in the Indian domestic scene. Therefore, we can see him take up the role for the next campaign. It also needs to be noted that he is the Head Coach of the franchise co-owned by one of the owners of Delhi Capitals in MLC 2024.

An Indian would make sense for the franchise. There are a lot of young Indian players who could do better with an Indian coach. Pravin could add a lot of value in this regard.

2) Shane Watson

Shane Watson is one of the current or former assistant coaches who can become the new Head Coach of the Delhi Capitals. Not long ago, Watto was an assistant coach at DC.

Since then, he has taken up some good Head Coach roles, including that of a PSL job. An IPL gig could be the next step in his career. Considering he is adept of the modern demands of the game, he would be a good fit for the job.

3) Mohammad Kaif

As per reports, the Delhi Capitals management is intent on appointing an Indian for the role. It may not be a surprise if it happens to be Kaif because he has already been a part of the franchise.

Kaif is well aware of the Indian domestic cricket scene and this could help him bag the job. The only thing going against him is that he does not have a lot of relevant experience for the role.
