3 candidates who can become the bowling coach if Gautam Gambhir becomes the India Head Coach

As per reports, Gautam Gambhir is in contention to become the next Head Coach of Team India. The decision might be known after the 2024 T20 World Cup. It will be interesting to see the selections he would make for his team. Gambhir could make some selections from his close circle. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three candidates who can become the bowling coach if Gautam Gambhir becomes the India Head Coach.

1) Bharat Arun

Bharat Arun was previously the bowling coach of Team India when Ravi Shastri was the Head Coach. It was during that time that India developed a top fast-bowling contingent. The likes of Bumrah and Siraj all got groomed under Bharat Arun.

At KKR, Bharat helped Gambhir with two quality Indian fast bowlers Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana. Since Bharat already has experience being with Team India, he could opt for one more stint. It would also help the young fast bowlers currently close to the Indian Team.

2) Morne Morkel

Morne Morkel is one of the candidates who can become the bowling coach if Gautam Gambhir becomes the India Head Coach. The former South African speedster has also worked a lot with Gambhir, be it as a player or in the support staff.

Morkel has the experience of being a bowling coach for Pakistan. Hence, he has the relevant experience. Therefore, he could be in consideration if Gautam wants a foreign option for this role.

3) L Balaji

L Balaji worked as a player and a coach when Gautam Gambhir was the captain of KKR. Hence, we cannot rule out the former India player taking up this role.

Balaji was a shrewd bowler and did well in the T20 format, as well. He would be a decent fit because he has already worked before with Gambhir.
