Phil Salt

One of the bold releases Delhi capitals might do before IPL 2024 is they might release Phil Salt. The English keeper batter was drafted into the team after Prithvi Shaw struggled to get going. He opened the innings alongside David Warner and did a reasonable job. The right-hander played great knocks and scored 218 runs in the 9 games he played. But with Rishabh Pant likely to be back for the next season and Prithvi Shaw retaining his place black, Slat might be released by the team.

Rovman Powell

Rovman Powell didn’t live up to the expectations for Delhi Capitals this season. The Caribbean batter failed miserably and was dropped from the team as well. In the absence of Rishabh Pant, it was expected that he would take the responsibility but he was dismissed cheaply in all the games. Also with Rilee Rossuow playing well in the league this year might have put pressure on Powell and therefore team might release him ahead of the next season. He scored just 7 runs in the three games he played.

Chetan Sakariya

Another bold release Delhi capitals might do before IPL 2024 is they might release Chetan Sakariya. The left-arm pacer wasn’t utilised properly by the team and with ample of pacers in the squad, it’s fair to say that he hasn’t been to showcase his talent. He played just two games this season and picked three wickets in this season. With Delhi Capitals having Mukesh Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed and Anrich Nortje in the team, it’s likely that Chetan Sakariya would not be in the contention next year. Therefore they might end up releasing him as well.
