3 Benched Players Mumbai Indians Should Try In IPL 2022

The Mumbai Indians are having a tough time in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. They are the most successful franchise in the history of the competition, but the Mumbai Indians could not form a strong squad at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, which has resulted in six consecutive defeats in the first six matches.

MI captain Rohit Sharma has tried many combinations and strategies but nothing has worked. It looked like MI had their strongest possible XI in their previous game against Lucknow Super Giants, but the Mumbai Indians continue to remain winless in IPL 2022.

Here’s what MI skipper Rohit Sharma said after the loss against LSG:

“Every game we play, try and find the right combination, looking at the conditions and the opposition, unless you win games, you can’t keep playing the same XI, when you lose games, it’s easy to point.”

There are still some players who are waiting for an opportunity. Here are the three benched players MI could try in their next matches:

1. Hrithik Shokeen could make his debut for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022

IPL is a tournament where the mystery spinners have achieved a lot of success. Mumbai Indians have a similar type of bowler named Hrithik Shokeen in their squad. Murugan Ashwin has received a lot of opportunities, but it seems like he needs support in the spin department. Someone like Shokeen could probably support him a lot.

2. Arjun Tendulkar

Mumbai Indians have tried Daniel Sams, Tymal Mills and Jaydev Unadkat as left-arm pace-bowling options in IPL 2022. However, none of them have done well consistently. They use someone like Arjun Tendulkar, who can surprise the opposition batters with his bowling skills.

3. Riley Meredith could play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022

If MI wish to used a more experienced T20 bowler than Arjun Tendulkar, they can try out Riley Meredith who was with the Punjab Kings last year. Meredith is a right-arm fast bowler who has bagged 71 wickets in 55 T20 matches.
