2 Shocking releases Mumbai Indians might do for next season

Mumbai Indians tumbled a bit in the first half of the IPL 2023 but they staged a staggering comeback in the second half of the season and qualified for the playoffs. They thumped Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator. Although they couldn’t win Qualifier 2 but they will have their eyes set on the target next season. In this piece, we will take a look at 2 Shocking releases Mumbai Indians might do for next season

Ishan Kishan

One of the Shocking releases Mumbai Indians might do for next season is they can release Ishan Kishan. They brought the keeper batter last year for a whopping sum of over 16 crores and then couldn’t buy a quality bowler. There’s a possibility that they might release him and buy him again at a low price to get some quality spinners and pacers in the team. Ishan Kishan played a decent role in the IPL 2023 as he gave his side blistering starts. But him being overpriced might tempt the team to release him.

Jofra Archer

Another Shocking release Mumbai Indians might do for next season is they can release of Jofra Archer. This may come up due to a couple of reasons. First, there’s no clarity about Archer’s fitness as the pacer missed last year’s IPL as well and also struggled with his fitness this year as well. He played just 5 games for the team and then was ruled out of the tournament. Releasing him will provide Mumbai with a whopping amount of INR 8 crores and with no surety about his availability team might look to release him.
