2 replacement players in IPL 2024 who could be retained before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions

As per reports, IPL 2025 will have a Mega Auction before that. Till now, there is no news on the retention and the RTM cards. Nevertheless, some franchises have a big decision to make. They had signed some cricketers as a replacement for IPL 2024. Their performances have been so good that it would not be a surprise if they get retained by the teams before a mega auction. This is a big call to take. On that note, here, we take a look at two replacement players in IPL 2024 who could be retained before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) Jake Fraser-McGurk – Delhi Capitals

The talented youngster from Australia has been in cracking form in IPL 2024. Especially with respect to his big-hitting, he has been better than some of the veterans. Adding to this, he can bowl and considering his age, he surely will be one of the options for DC to consider.

Rishabh Pant will surely be retained. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav are the other Indian options for the team. Tristan Stubbs and Mitchell Marsh will be the foreign choices. Marsh is a top cricketer and must be backed to come good. JFM has also announced his entry to these discussions now.

2) Phil Salt – Kolkata Knight Riders

Phil Salt is one of the replacement players in IPL 2024 who could be retained before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. The English opener came in as the replacement for Jason Roy. Since Game 1, he has been the opener and the wicket-keeper for KKR.

It is difficult to get aggressive openers who can also keep wickets. Salt has also got accustomed to the wickets at Eden Gardens. Therefore, he makes a case for himself to be retained by the team. KKR will have some tough decisions to take in this regard. While Sunil Narine and Andre Russell are in good form, their age and fitness are not good for a retention. Hence, it will be interesting to see what KKR will do.
