His 74th International century was another example of why is he considered among the greats to have played the game of cricket. Kohli came to bat when India lost skipper Rohit Sharma in the 16th over of 42 runs. Kohli looked very optimistic right from ball 1 and played staggering strokes all over the ground. This was his second hundred of the series with the first one coming in the opening game of the series.

Kohli’s century took India past 350 runs as he staggering crafted his innings and made a mockery of the Sri Lankan bowling lineup. The right-hander scored unbeaten 166 runs and 13 fours and 8 sixes in his innings and batted with a strike rate of 150.91.
His innings also saw him becoming the third-highest run-getter at home in the format. Kohli surpassed Mahela Jayawardene to enter the top five of the all-time highest run-getters in the ODI format.
