Sam Curran 

English all-rounder Sam Curran became the most expensive pick in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The southpaw invited a bidding war between several teams but eventually, it was Punjab Kings who acquired him for INR 18.5 crores. The young all-rounder previously was with Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021 and was receiving a salary of 5.5 crores. He received a massive hike of 13 crores. Curran of late has been exceptional for England, winning Player of the Tournament in T20 World Cup 2022.

Nicholas Pooran 

Caribbean all-rounder Nicholas Pooran also received a massive hike in the IPL 2023. He was with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who acquired him for INR 10.75 crores in IPL 2022. But he was released from the squad. However, he invited a bidding war in the IPL 2023 auction between a few teams but he was finally brought by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 16 crores. He performed staggeringly well in the recently-concluded Abu Dhabi T10 League, which saw him getting picked for a hefty amount. He received a hike of 5.25 crores.
