2 Players Who Could Replace Deepak Chahar In The Playing XI For The First T20I Against Sri Lanka

Deepak Chahar was in good form during the T20I series against the West Indies cricket team. Unfortunately, during the third T20I of the series against the West Indies team, he picked up a hamstring injury which has ruled him out of the upcoming T20I series against the Sri Lankan cricket team. Now someone will have to replace Deepak Chahar.

He bowled an excellent spell in the last T20I and played a vital role in the Indian cricket team’s 3-0 series win over the Men in Maroon.

The Indian team is confirmed to make two changes from their last match’s playing XI. One is Deepak Chahar who will miss out and the other player is Suryakumar Yadav who is also nursing an injury. So, in this article now, we will look at the two players who could replace Chahar in the playing XI for the first T20I.

1. Jasprit Bumrah is likely to replace Deepak Chahar in the playing XI

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is making his comeback to the T20I squad for the first time after the ICC T20 World Cup. Bumrah is the number one contender to take Chahar’s place in the playing XI because of his experience.

Many fans consider Bumrah as the number one fast bowler in world cricket at the moment, and his abilities to bowl yorkers and bowl with variations in the shortest format of the game indeed make him one of the toughest bowlers to face.

2. Mohammed Siraj

While Bumrah is the top contender to replace Deepak Chahar, even Mohammed Siraj has a chance. Siraj was impressive in the ODIs against the West Indies team.

Also, Siraj did a good job for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous IPL season. So, either Jasprit Bumrah or Siraj could replace Chahar in the playing XI for the first T20I against Sri Lanka tomorrow evening in Lucknow.
