2 players Travis Head might replace in the playing 11 for Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup

Australia finally won a game in the 2023 ODI World Cup recently. Now, the team has some more good news! Travis Head is reportedly fit and is available for the next World Cup game. While the arrival of Head is excellent for the Aussies, it will be interesting which player will make way for the cricketer. On that note, here, we take a look at two players Travis Head might replace in the playing 11 for Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup.

1) Marcus Stoinis

Marcus Stoinis has been unable to contribute well to Australia in recent weeks. While he has looked off-colour with the willow, he has not been consistent with the ball. Australia is most likely to have Travis Head replace the all-rounder in the team.

Travis Head might go up to open the batting and Mitchell Marsh could come down in the batting order. It may not be a big change in terms of the balance. However, with Stoinis moving out, Australia will have to forcibly make use of the bowling of Mitchell Marsh if needed.

2) Marnus Labuschagne

Marnus Labuschagne is one of the players Travis Head might replace in the playing 11 for Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup. If Australia does not want to disturb the balance of the side, the best idea is to include Travis Head in the place of Marnus. Yes, Marnus has been in good touch but Mitchell Marsh’s best possible slot in the middle-order would be at No.4 or No.5.

Travis Head is unlikely to play in the middle-order and hence, Marsh has to do the job. Also, with Marnus going out and one of Green or Stoinis still in the XI, Australia would retain the bowling depth. It would be a bold decision to keep Marnus out. However, it needs to be noted that he got a chance in the squad only as a replacement player.
