It is always a good idea to have a domestic player as the captain because it gives the extra choice to the coach while selecting the foreigners.
Rassie is a dependable batter and he was good in the recent season. If he plays in the top-order, he will be good against the pacers. He also has a calm head and would be the ideal captain for the franchise for the next two seasons, at least.
2) Kagiso Rabada
When MI Cape Town picked Kagiso Rabada, many fans expected the pacer to become the captain of the franchise. However, that did not happen. That said, it might just be the right time to give him the responsibility.
Rabada is one of the leading stars in the game and he deserves a captaincy role. He also seems to be capable of doing it. It would further help him deliver better with the ball in the coming seasons.
