As a young Indian cricketer, it is always special to do well in the Indian Premier League. One of the main reasons for forming the league was to allow youngsters to come through. However, IPL is also giving a new lease of life to a few veteran cricketers who have toiled hard in the country for many years. They were a part of more than one Ranji team and more than two IPL teams in the past. However, it is only in IPL 2024 that they got a proper chance and they have made good use of it. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two journeyman cricketers who impressed all with their performances in IPL 2024.
1) Shashank Singh
When it comes to domestic cricket, Shashank has played for Mumbai, Puducherry and Chattisgarh. In the IPL, he has been a part of teams such as Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils and SRH. However, it was at PBKS this year that many got to see his skills.
As a hitter in the middle-order, he was excellent and helped PBKS get close to many matches. Against KKR, he was one of the main reasons why Punjab executed the best chase in T20 history. He still has the age to make an impact and hence, his IPL career is secure.
2) Swapnil Singh
Swapnil Singh is one of the journeyman cricketers who impressed all with their performances in IPL 2024. Not many know that Swapnil Singh was a part of IPL 2008. He was in the Mumbai Indians Team but could not get a chance.
Later, he played for teams such as PBKS and LSG. At the domestic level, he played junior-level cricket in Lucknow before moving to Baroda. Now, he operates in Uttarakhand. For RCB, he has been a valuable player and his career is only taking off now.
