The County Championship is important for some Indian cricketers. With no games at the domestic level, it is easy to go rusty during this phase. Some players who are playing in the IPL right now will pack their bags to England after the season is done. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two Indians in IPL 2024 who will play in the County Championship after the IPL finishes.
1) Prithvi Shaw – Northamptonshire
Last season, as well, Prithvi Shaw played for the same side. He had a brilliant start but an injury forced him to not finish his stint. Nevertheless, he would now get one more chance to showcase his skills. Karun Nair, who is currently playing in the same team, will be replaced by Prithvi after June.
For Prithvi, it is all about taking care of his fitness and scoring a lot of runs. He is a quality cricketer and he can still make a comeback. Scoring runs in England will only make his case better in the future.
2) Jaydev Unadkat – Sussex
Jaydev Unadkat is one of the Indians in IPL 2024 who will play in the County Championship after the IPL finishes. Unadkat recently made his return to the Indian setup. However, it did not last long. Hence, for him, as well, the stint at Sussex will be very useful. He will play along with Cheteshwar Pujara in the team.
Currently, Unadkat is doing well for SRH in IPL 2024. He will be keen to leave a mark and help his team win the trophy. After that, he will play a few games in the County Championship. If he does well, with the Australia series around, he will have a good chance to be in the Indian Team.
