2 changes SRH could make in the playing 11 for Qualifier 2 in Chennai

Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to make changes for their next game in IPL 2024. It will be a knockout game and hence, Daniel Vettori will be aware of the magnitude. They failed both with the bat and the ball against KKR in Qualifier 1. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two changes SRH could make in the playing 11 for Qualifier 2 in Chennai.

1) Mayank Markhande for Sanvir Singh

Sanvir Singh has been playing for SRH in the last few games. Against KKR, it was because of SRH’s collapse that Sanvir got a chance. Otherwise, the team would have preferred a pure bowler as the Impact Player in the second inning.

Nevertheless, at Chepauk, there could be a need for an extra spinner. In this regard, SRH might go for Mayank Markhande. Yes, he could go for runs but there is a chance that he could also take some wickets. This is exactly the template for SRH in the middle overs. Hence, this change could happen.

2) Glenn Phillips for Vijayakanth Viyaskanth

Glenn Phillips for Vijayakanth Viyaskanth is one of the changes SRH could make in the playing 11 for Qualifier 2 in Chennai. The youngster from Sri Lanka is talented but it is not sure why SRH is using him so late in the tournament. They could have rather used Markhande or someone like Marco Jansen in the bowling department.

That said, SRH might strengthen their batting attack for the next game. Glenn Phillips is the ideal choice to come into the side. Even Aiden Markram would be a good idea. Both of these players can also provide some overs of off-spin. With Rahul Tripathi doing well, SRH might need Markram. Phillips coming after Klaasen in the batting line-up would be destructive. Therefore, SRH could make this move in Chennai.
