2 changes India could make for the third Test against New Zealand

It has been a poor last few weeks for India. They have lost the home Test series to New Zealand. This was never expected. However, it is a big wake-up call for the team. The last Test will be important for the team to gain confidence ahead of the BGT. Hence, a few changes could happen. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two changes India could make for the third Test against New Zealand.

1) Mohammed Siraj for Akash Deep

Akash Deep had a tough time in Pune. Nothing can be derived out of it because the pitch was not suited to his strengths. Mohammed Siraj is someone who does well when he is high on confidence. In the lead up to the BGT, it is important that he is in good mental space.

Hence, it is worth having him on the side for the last and the final Test. Having a go could help him gain momentum and this could help the squad for the BGT.

2) Axar Patel for Jasprit Bumrah

Axar Patel for Jasprit Bumrah is one of the changes India could make for the third Test against New Zealand. It has more to do with the workload management. With the series lost, India must not risk Jasprit Bumrah. He is the vice-captain of the side and the lead bowler for the men in blue.

Hence, it is a wise call to rest him and keep him fresh for the BGT. Axar Patel has done well in all the chances he has got. Hence, he deserves a chance in the setup. This will also help his confidence because he has been out of the Test XI for a while now. Of course, India could also consider bringing in either Harshit Rana or Prasidh Krishna for the last Test.
