Video of Sachin Tendulkar sharing his award with Ambati Rayudu goes viral
Back in 2011, Ambati Rayudu was fairly new to the tournament. The batter was first part of the Indian Cricket League and hence, did not take part in IPL for the first few seasons. He started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians and it did not take long for the cricketer to leave an impression.
In the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2011, Mumbai Indians had restricted the hosts to just 140 in the first innings. Mumbai Indians had David Jacobs and Sachin Tendulkar as the openers. While Jacobs got out after making 22 runs, Sachin stitched a partnership with Ambati Rayudu who came in at No.3. The duo helped MI cross the line with Sachin making 55 runs and Ambati Rayudu scoring 63 runs.
It was Sachin Tendulkar who was adjudged as the Player of the Match. However, during the presentation, Sachin took Rayudu with him and said that the youngster deserved the award more than him. It was a brilliant gesture by the legend. That video has now gone viral. Here is a look at it:
