Gujarat Titans lost the Qualifier 1 to Chennai Super Kings. It was a tough game but GT lost many opportunities to control the game, especially with their tactics. Therefore, they are likely to make a few changes for the next match, which will be a knockout game. Here, we take a look at two changes Gujarat Titans must make for their next game.
1) B Sai Sudharsan for Dasun Shanaka
B Sai Sudharsan has been good in whatever chances he has got this season. Yet, the management is repeatedly dropping the player and promoting Hardik Pandya to No.3.
Dasun Shanaka’s inclusion in the playing XI, especially this late in the tournament, has also been surprising. For the sake of the balance of the squad, it would be best if Sai takes his spot back at No.3. Hardik Pandya coming on later in the batting inning is the best way forward for the GT squad. Also, Sai in the top order means it would be a left-hander to change things.
2) Alzarri Joseph for Darshan Nalkande
Alzarri Joseph for Darshan Nalkande is one of the changes Gujarat Titans must make for their next game. It was a massive surprise when Darshan was given a chance for the crucial game when he did not play the last few encounters. In this regard, GT might be best served to bring a more experienced player to this place.
Assuming Shanaka would drop out, GT can afford an overseas name and hence, Alzarri would be the best bet. His presence in the middle overs would make it more efficient for GT as his type of bowling is the weakness for many batters in the league. Josh Little is also an option and in fact, he would be the more likely choice if Hardik Pandya is not bowling in the tournament for the next games.
