1. Maheesh Theekshana in place of Mitchell Santner
One of the obvious changes that CSK will make when Maheesh Theekshana will join them is that they can play the right-arm spinner in place of Mitchell Santner. The Kiwi spinner did a terrific job in the two games CSK has played so far but with Ravindra Jadeja being the left-spinner too, the team management would want to bring variety in the team. Theekshana was brilliant for them last year and also with his ability to bowl with the new ball could also come in handy for the MS Dhoni-led side considering that they don’t have any quality new ball bowler in the team apart from Deepak Chahar.

2. Simranjeet Singh or other players in place of Tushar Deshpande as an impact player
Chennai Super Kings have been using Tushar Deshpande as an impact player once the side comes to bowl because of the inexperienced bowling lineup of the team. The young pacer hasn’t quite lived up to the expectations and has been conceding runs at a high economy rate. The presence of Theekshana will add experience to the team and will allow the team to try other pacers in place of Deshpande as well. The team can look to give Simranjeet Singh a chance. The pacer was very impressive last season for the team as picked 6 games and picked 4 wickets in them. The availability of a Sri Lankan spinner will help the team try a few experiments as well and give chance to others as well as an impact players.
