2 changes Chennai Super Kings might make for their next game against Punjab Kings

Lucknow Super Giants clinched their first-ever win in IPL with a six-wicket triumph over defending champions Chennai Super Kings. Although CSK made 210 runs, they were not able to defend it. Most of the batting strategies worked, and it was in the bowling department that CSK failed. Hence, we might expect a few changes in the upcoming game. The team will next face Punjab Kings at the Brabourne Stadium on 3rd April. In this article, we take a look at two changes Chennai Super Kings might make for their next game against Punjab Kings.

1) Adam Milne for Tushar Deshpande

Kiwi pacer Adam Milne, who played the first encounter for CSK, missed the game against LSG due to a side strain. Hence, if he is fit, Milne is sure to take up a place in the playing XI. If he is not available, English pacer Chris Jordan might get a chance.

Having two uncapped Indian pacers in the playing XI is always a risky move. CSK faced the brunt of the decision as both the youngsters went for more than 10 runs an over. The franchise needs experience, and hence, a change is on the cards for the next encounter. CSK will be happy if Milne is fit because the new ball bowling can then be better.

2) Rajvardhan Hangargekar for Mukesh Choudhary

Rajvardhan Hangargekar for left-arm seamer Mukesh Choudhary is one of the changes Chennai Super Kings might make for their next game against Punjab Kings. Before the season started, with Deepak Chahar absent for a few games, many felt that Indian U19 World Cup winner Rajvardhan might get a chance. However, so far, the Maharashtra cricketer is yet to get the nod.

However, although CSK is known for backing players, the management might take the decision to bring Rajvardhan into the XI. Mukesh Choudhary had a decent game for a debutante but he might have to make way for the teenager, whose new-ball exploits were on display at the recent U19 World Cup. Moreover, he is a decent batter in the lower order, something that might make CSK more fearless with the willow.
