ZM-W vs SAW-E Dream11: The Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo will play hosts to the 4th match of the series between Zimbabwe Women and South Africa Women Emerging on May 24.
After winning the toss and batting first in the 3rd match of the series, South Africa started poorly with the top order collapsing to the likes of Nomvelo Sibanda who stormed through them.
All-rounder Anneke Bosch came to the rescue and scored a gritty 41 providing stability to the innings alongside Delmi Tucker’s magnificent knock of 65.
The icing on the cake was South Africa’s no. 10 batsman, Masabata Klaas, who played a magical inning and remained unbeaten on 59 helping SAW-E get to a defending total of 242/7. The pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe was Novmelo Sibanda who picked up 4/57 in her 10 overs.
In reply, despite it being a must-win game, the Zimbabwe Women were stuck in the same situation they’ve always been in the series.
Skipper Josephine Nkomo was the lone fighter as she remained unbeaten on 63. Despite her efforts, Zimbabwe lost the game by a huge margin of 79 runs. South Africa’s Michaela Andrews led the bowling attack with figures of 3/35.
This helped SAW-E gain an unlosable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. They go into the fourth match as clear favourites.
