Zaheer Khan predicts Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021

The India tour of Sri Lanka has finally ended with both nations winning one format each. India won the ODI series by 2-1, and Sri Lanka won the T20 series. The Indian side did commendable work by not canceling the series and playing it despite the difficulties.

This series might prove to be decision-making for team India as the ICC T20 World Cup is approaching. Players performing well in this series and impressing in Phase 2 of IPL 2021 will get the chance for the mega event.

Former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan has also opened up on the same thought. He recently selected his Indian squad for the upcoming ICC event. The side features the perfect blend of experienced and young stars who can lift the trophy for India. Here are the details regarding the squad:


Zaheer only picked 2 Batsmen who can open the innings for India. These 2 were Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. He didn’t pick Shikhar Dhawan and some of the other youngsters.

The middle-order batting department has the likes of Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan. Rishabh Pant has been the man with the wicket-keeping gloves who got selected in the squad.

Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are the two all-rounders selected by the MI director. At the same time, the spin department has the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar, and one player among Varun Chakravarthy or Washington Sundar.


The pace department has been filled with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Deepak Chahar, and one option from either Natarajan or Bhuvneshwar Kumar. It would be exciting to see which players BCCI selects for the World Cup.
