Star Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj posted a lengthy message on Instagram as Virat Kohli announced that he will step down as the captain of the Indian cricket team in the longest format of the game. Before the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Kohli announced that he would step down as the T20I captain after the mega event in the Middle East.
Soon after, the BCCI decided to take away the ODI captaincy from him and assign it to Rohit Sharma. It seemed like Kohli would continue as the captain of the Indian Test cricket team. However, it did not happen. He led the team in the ICC World Test Championship series against the South African cricket team and then stepped down with a long post on Instagram.
Many players have improved under Kohli, and one of them is Mohammed Siraj. There was a time when he leaked runs while bowling in the death overs for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. But he has improved a lot and is now one of the best fast bowlers in the country. Former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli backed Siraj a lot.
Thus, when Virat stepped down as captain in all formats of the sport, Siraj took to Instagram to thank him for his backing.
“To my superhero, I cannot be thankful enough for the support and the encouragement that I got from you. You have always been my great brother. Thank you for trusting me and believing in me for all these years. For seeing the great at my worst. You will be always be my captain King Kohli,” wrote Siraj.

The first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series will happen tomorrow at Boland Park in Paarl.
After the international season, Kohli and Siraj will play together for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022.
